Linking this thread To Egypt is wishful thinking. The jet here is not sold for export, neither is the J-20? If we wanted EW from China, we'd have to buy the aircraft they sold to Pakistan. If we wanted a fighter jet from China, we'd have to buy the J-10 or J-
35
the j-35 would be very politically sensitive, and would very likely make it so the US semi-dumps us in military aid.

I can't deny that there's an element of "wishful thinking" in this matter. And the fighter jet hasn't actually been exported to anyone... and that was the same situation with the Rafale (Egypt was the first foreign customer).
The rafale situation is entirely and completely different. The rafale had been marketed for years prior. China only markets the J-10C and J-35.

Oh Pasha
We do not want support that is conditional on political and military restrictions, and this is not nonsense. The Egyptian people will not accept insults from anyone.
If America imposes any sanctions on Egypt, it could cost Egypt 10 or even 20 billion.
America will lose hundreds of billions.
Mostly in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia
With Egypt, all shipping and military aviation routes will move to other countries by air, which is more difficult and costly. As for sea, the Route of Good Hope for American warships will be the only available shipping route.
This means that America will want to restore relations with Egypt, not the other way around.
Egypt should turn to China, and Egypt has nothing to fear from American threats.
She waged war against Iran and doesn't know how to stop it.
And Iran lost hundreds of billions militarily and economically... It's shameful.
Egypt has much to fear. Half our military equipment, or 85%, is american. If the US stops aid, if the US puts the slightest sanctions on us, our already fragile economy will crumble like dust. That is simply common logic.
