The Egyptian Ministry of Military Production (MoMP) is reported to have signed a memorandum with the South Korean aerospace and defense company Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) that includes a transfer of technology (ToT) agreement, training, and joint production agreements to produce reconnaissance and surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
Tactical Report has prepared a 281-word report to shed more light on this subject.

UNLOCKED REPORT
Since the beginning of 2021, several South Korean defense companies submitted offers to the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, including tanks, artillery, electronic warfare (EW) systems, radars, and drones.
Note that the commander of the strategic command and supervisor of the military industrialization Vice-Admiral Ahmed Khaled Hassan signed several memoranda of understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Minister of Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) Kang Eun-ho.
These memoranda include cooperation in the field of defense industries, and localization of electronic technologies and systems used for the manufacture of surveillance drones.
Reports from Cairo suggest that the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production (MoMP) has signed a memorandum with the South Korean aerospace and defense company Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) that includes a transfer of technology (ToT) agreement, training, and joint production agreements to produce reconnaissance and surveillance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Sources close to the situation say that based on the agreements, Egypt will receive training to produce an indigenous medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV.
The memorandum was signed in early 2022, with both Egypt and South Korea exchanging engineers and technicians for training and setting up facilities.
The same sources add that Egyptian military engineers were reportedly spotted in Busan city in South Korea, where they are receiving training from KAI engineers.
There are talks that the indigenous UAV which will be produced by Egypt will have similar qualities to the ones produced by South Korea, including an operational range of 400 KM and a continuous 18 hours of flight.
Available information says that the Egyptian Armed Forces is currently testing early prototypes in military facilities.
Moreover, the Egyptian Defense Ministry is giving military projects a priority based on President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s recommendation.
